Pope Francis this morning received Bartholomew I, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, and immediately afterwards, Metropolitan Hilarion of the Patriarchate of Moscow. Bartholomew's presence at yesterday's ceremony marking the beginning of the pontificate was a first for an Ecumenical Patriarch. Earlier, at 11 am, Pope Francis received the president of Brazil, Dilma Roussef. According to the Press Office of the Holy See, this meeting lasted for more than half an hour.
